Lithuania: Affidea acquires MPG

Affidea, Europe’s largest medical services provider, has acquired UAB Medicinos Paslaugų Grupė (MPG) in Lithuania from LitCapital. Financial terms have not been disclosed.

Medicinos Paslaugų Grupė is a private healthcare service provider, with a network of 12 outpatient and diagnostic imaging clinics in eight cities across the country: Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Panevėžys, Alytus, Klaipėda and Druskininkai.

This latest investment doubles Affidea’s presence in the country – with the local network growing from 11 centres to 23 across the country.

The acquisition of MPG follows Affidea’s recent expansion in Italy, with the acquisition of Medicenter clinics in Rome, Monterotondo and Terni, and in Ireland with the opening of the third ExpressCare clinic for minor injuries and minor illnesses in Dublin.

“The recently announced acquisitions in Lithuania and Italy, alongside with the opening of the new ExpressCare in Ireland, marks important milestones in our development and supports our long-standing commitment to further expand into high quality outpatient care services locally and at European level,” said group chief executive officer Giuseppe Recchi. “We are well placed to accelerate on our growth journey, looking for the right opportunities across Europe to bolster our portfolio of healthcare assets further”.
