Malaysia: MYEG moves into healthcare

Malaysian e-government service provider My EG Services is to make a push into healthcare services.

The e-government services provided by MYEG Group include the renewal of foreign workers’ work permits; renewal of motor vehicle road tax; computerised theory test for drivers’ licences; transfer of vehicle ownership as well as various information searches, payments and applications to numerous Malaysian government agencies

The group intends to expand its commercial services business activities into medical screening services; the distribution of vaccines along with other pharmaceutical products and medical devices; and the provision of quarantine and quarantine-related services.

MYEG has set up a dedicated team to spearhead the development of its healthcare-related business segment including Gopirajan Rasamy, Siti Khadijah Ahmad and Priyaa Darshini A/P Paremasivem.

The company intends to allocate up to M$168m to its healthcare arm which will be funded via internally generated funds and a private placement.
