ASX-listed specialist investment manager, Centuria Capital Group, in conjunction with joint venture partner, Digital Infratech, is targeting a A$250m (US$177.3m) health, education and community precinct at Cudgen, on the Tweed Coast NSW.
The proposed precinct, called Cudgen Connection, is intended to provide a new university campus, aged care facilities, essential worker housing, private hospital, medi-hotel, specialist and allied healthcare, rehab pool, gym, community hub, farmers’ market, eateries and an amphitheatre set in parklands adjacent to the NSW Government’s Tweed Valley Hospital.
The project is subject to site re-zoning and approval processes.
Centuria Capital, with more than A$20bn of assets under management, offers a range of investment opportunities including healthcare property funds. At the end of 2021, it acquired healthcare properties across Australia and New Zealand for more than A$466m on behalf of its existing unlisted Australian healthcare fund and a new unlisted New Zealand healthcare fund.
