Asklepios acquires Minddistrict

Kai Hankeln, chief executive of the Asklepios Kliniken Group

German private hospital group Asklepios Kliniken has acquired Dutch e-health provider Minddistrict. Financial terms have not been disclosed.

Founded in 2008 by Mark Willems, Minddistrict is the market leader in ehealth in the Netherlands, with offices in the UK and Germany, and a presence in the US and Canada. It boasts more than 200,000 users.

Minddistrict’s platform is already used at the Asklepios clinics in Brandenburg, Göttingen, Harburg, Lübben, Nord, Stadtroda and Teupitz. A rollout is now planned throughout the group.

“Asklepios increasingly covers the care and attention of patients with mental illness or mental health problems as part of its digitisation strategy,” said Kai Hankeln, chief executive of the Asklepios Kliniken Group explaining the acquisition.
