Swiss Medical Network, the second largest group of private clinics in Switzerland, has acquired an initial 40% stake in Rapperswil-based Rosenklinik in the canton of St Gallen. Financial terms have not been disclosed.
It intends to the clinic in its entirety by the end of 2022.
Founded in 1995, Rosenklinik has been on the hospital list of the Canton of St. Gallen since 2012 and is open to all patients. It has mandates for orthopaedics, surgery and urology and a partial mandate for neurosurgery, and was operationally integrated into the Swiss Medical Network group at the start of the month.
In 2017, the clinic had revenues of SFr10.3 million (US$10.2 million) and performed 1,132 surgeries. With the arrival of new doctors, medical synergies and the development of supply, Swiss Medical Network said that Rosenklinik expects to double its activity in the medium term.
With the acquisition of Rosenklinik, Swiss Medical Network now has 17 clinics across 12 cantons in the country.
