Thomson Hospitals signs M$300 million loan

The Malaysian hospitals subsidiary of Thomson Medical Group, Singapore’s second largest healthcare group, has signed a M$300 million (US$74 million) term loan facility with Maybank.

Details of the loan have not been disclosed, but Thomson Hospitals says that the loan is to part finance the expansion of its flagship hospital in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya. The development cost of the project is M$450 million.

The loan has been guaranteed by the company.

For the full year, Thomson Medical Group returned to profitability with profits of S$2.2 million on revenues that rose 7% to S$215.6 million.
