Bupa defends press fee structure criticism

Bupa has defended its fee structure following criticism in The Times last month that it was cutting fees to the bone’. In the article doctors including Derek Machin of the BMA’s private practice committee accused Bupa of trying to seize control of the medical profession and making private practice an unattractive option. The article claimed that the fees paid to doctors for conducting various operations ha d reduced from between 10% to 70%.
