Councils force further erosion of real-term fee rates in 2014/15

The gap between the average uplift in care home fee rates for older people paid by UK local authorities for 2014/15 and care home cost inflation is widening once more as council budget savings still continue to bite. Despite a small uplift providing respite to operators last year, the rise signals a continuation into a fifth year of the trend which has seen baseline fee rates fall significantly in real terms each successive year since 2010/11.
