Fees eroded further after UK councils plan a 1.9% uplift

The gap between local authority care home fee rates for older people and the costs of care places in real terms will widen once more in 2015/16, representing a drop of almost 5% for council-funded residents over the past five years, according to the latest research from LaingBuisson. This marks the sixth year in a row that usual costs (formerly known as baseline fees) have fallen significantly in real terms.
