Legal challenge over Birimingham bidding?

The Birmingham Care Consortium (BCC), which represents independent providers in the city, voted unanimously last month to join forces with neighbouring care associations to lodge legal proceedings against Birmingham city council for a judicial review. BCC revealed to CCMn that its members were unhappy with the bidding system for new service users, claiming it was designed to drive down the price of care’ and branded it a cattle market’ (CCMn March 2013).
