Marginal rises in occupancy and fee rates

Small glimmers of sunshine can be seen behind the big black cloud that the UK care sector has been under for the past four years after analysis from property consultants Knight Frank found marginal increases in occupancy and average fee rates in 2011. In its inaugural research report into the trading performance of elderly care homes in the UK, it found that care home operating profit margins increased slightly during 2011 to stand at 30.5% of total income, improving from 30.1% in 2010.
