One in eight care homes ARE being charged for GP services

More than one in eight care homes are being charged by NHS GP practices for primary care cover for its residents, an exclusive CCMn survey has found. One London-based provider reported paying £50,000 per year for GP services. The amount charged varied widely between the 31 care homes (out of the 241 which responded to the survey) paying GPs for services, ranging from £500 per year to £50,000 per year.
