Staff shortages holding back CQC – NAO

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has yet to recruit enough staff to carry out its work, according to a new report from the National Audit Office. The spending watchdog’s appraisal of the care regulator found that, while CQC had met its initial target in mid-April to recruit 300 inspectors by the end of that month, it has shortages among other staff particularly among analysts.
