Hancock intends to publish green paper before April

Health and Social Care Secretary Matt Hancock has told the House Commons that he intends to publish the adult social care green paper before April.

During a debate yesterday (Monday 7 January), the cabinet minister said the green paper would tie in with the NHS long-term plan and that the document would be ‘provided soon’.

He was then asked by Labour MP Liz Kendall if questions about the long-term funding of social care would be answered before April.

Hancock responded: ‘When I answered a previous question on the timing of the social care green paper, I said it would be provided ‘soon’. I certainly intend that to happen before April. My previous commitment was to do it before Christmas, so it is well advanced.’
