Anchor appoints two non-executive directors to board

Anchor has appointed Elizabeth Froude and Fred Angole to its board as non-executive directors.

Froude has been in the housing sector for almost 20 years and worked for large organisations in several parts of England. She is group chief executive at Platform Housing Group.

Elizabeth Froude

Before joining the housing sector, she worked for several FTSE organisations in the UK, US and across Europe in roles focused on change and performance improvement, often in M&A environments.

She is a supporter of the sustainability agenda for the sector and is the chair of the National Housing Federation’s sustainability strategy group and also on the board of the Future Homes Hub, which carries out research to support policy development on housing standards in the new build environment.

Fred Angole

Angole is finance director and deputy chief executive of YMCA St Paul’s Group, a supported housing provider that specialises in providing accommodation and wellbeing services to vulnerable young Londoners.

He is also a non-executive board member and chair of the audit and risk committee at Notting Hill Genesis Housing Association and holds a similar position at Newlon Housing Trust.

Angole is a qualified accountant with over 30 years’ experience in the social housing sector, as a regulator, finance executive and non-executive director. He is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and has an MSc in Finance and Investment. He was previously director of corporate services at Homes for Haringey and a trustee of Black Cultural Archives.

‘Both Elizabeth and Fred bring a great deal of experience to the board. I look forward to working with them and the other members of the board and Anchor’s executive team to ensure Anchor continues to innovate to meet the needs of the older people of today and tomorrow,’ said Anchor chair Christopher Kemball.
