Cornerstone recruits psychological and physical intervention trainer

Jonathan Spencer

Cornerstone Healthcare has appointed an in-house NAPPI (non-abusive psychological and physical intervention) trainer to work across its services.

Jonathan Spencer will be responsible for delivering training on psychological and physical techniques to all staff and assisting the group’s nurses in personalising care plans around  NAPPI requirements that an individual may have.

NAPPI is the assessment, support and management of residents whose behaviour may become challenging. Cornerstone operates specialist nursing homes in Surrey and Hampshire that care for people with challenging behaviours associated with complex neurological and mental health needs.

‘At Cornerstone we pride our self on providing specialist and dedicated training for our staff and this appointment only emphasises that,’ chief operating officer Dara Ní Ghadhra said. ‘It will provide employees with the best possible training and ensure all our staff are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in delivering the highest quality of care in this specialist environment.’
