Nicola Forshaw has been appointed as chief executive officer of Northern Healthcare, an independent provider of supported living services.

Forshaw joins the operator with over 25 years of experience in health and social care. She joined Lifeways Community Care in 2013 as operations director, working her way to managing director and then chief operating officer. As COO, she oversaw operations across sites that supported over 4,400 individuals, while also managing 8,000 operational staff.

Northern Healthcare supports over 200 adults who require support due to a mental health diagnosis, learning disability or autism. Its services are based across the North West, Cumbria, Yorkshire, and the Midlands.

‘I have spent my career in health and social care, and I know firsthand the real difference our teams can make to the people we support and provide care for. I will use that experience to lead and support our business through our next exciting chapter and the opportunities that lie ahead for us as we continue to develop our services, deliver great care, and support and ensure the continued commercial success of Northern Healthcare,’ Forshaw said.

Paul Callander, non-executive chair at Northern Healthcare, added: ‘Nicola brings with her a wealth of experience in the social care sector and a proven track record of excellence in service delivery and organisational growth. Her leadership, extensive experience, and profound dedication to our sector are unmistakably evident through the pivotal roles she has undertaken.’
