The real estate developer and owner of Morar Living, a luxury care home provider in Scotland, has made the additions as it continues with its expansion plans.

Andy Curran, commercial director

Curran brings 18 years industry and surveying experience and was formerly commercial director with McCarthy and Stone. He will be responsible for managing all commercial opportunities, in respect of care home development from land appraisals to final account transfer to Morar.

He will work closely with Murray, who has more than 35 years’ experience in procurement with companies in the Scottish construction sector.

They will be based at the company headquarters in Baillieston on the outskirts of Glasgow.

Simply has also boosted its head office administration team with the appointments of Stacey Laidlaw within commercial operations and Gemma Scott in accounts.

Gary Sharp, managing director of Simply UK, said: ‘Andy and Alistair are valuable additions to our senior management team. They both have a wealth of experience in the construction sector and are well established and highly respected across the Scottish market.

‘We launched the Morar Living brand earlier this year and our portfolio is leading the way across the healthcare and senior living sector. These appointments will ensure that we are able to continue our ambitious development and expansion plans, bringing luxury state-of-the-art care homes to communities across Scotland and the rest of the UK.’

Simply is targeting more than 1,000 beds across the UK by the end of 2022, with 350 coming to market in 2021 and a further 500 during 2022.

It has more than 200 beds over three care homes in Scotland – Castlehill in Inverness, which opened earlier this year, and Harbour House in Musselburgh and Bridge of Weir in Renfrewshire, which are scheduled to open this year. A further three care homes are under construction at Perth, Stirling and Helensburgh.
