Ambient assisted living (AAL) platform Archangel has partnered with Care Messenger to support individuals to have live video interaction with families and carers through the smart TV in their home.

Care Messenger’s video and messaging services will be integrated with the AAL platform to deliver a better level of care for people living with chronic illness and supported living needs in their homes. Care Messenger is a TV-based video call and messaging platform that overlays TV content without the need to change channels or inputs.

Archangel’s platform integrates digital technologies with existing analogue solutions to provide a better way for connecting systems, assessing data and responding to incidents for the health and care sector.

Its partners are based on its tech platform and focus on CARE, which covers Connect, Assess, Respond and Evolve.

‘This Connect partnership will add the unique AV and messaging services of Care Messenger to the Archangel AAL platform to enable individuals to have full, live video interaction with families, carers, responders and alarm receiving centre providers directly through the smart TV in their home,’ said Archangel founder and chief executive Tom Morton.

Paul Slaughter, Care Messenger chief executive, added: ‘Our state-of-the-art video messaging services are a perfect fit for Archangel and we are delighted to be working together with the AAL platform to increase the scope and potential of care within the home.’
