CHD Living plans to open a 60-bedroom care home in Elstead, Surrey, this winter.
Wey Meadows will provide residential and nursing care, respite support, convalescence and post-operative recovery for people across Elstead, Farnham, Godalming and the surrounding villages.
The site was once home to Weyburn Engineering Works, which began in 1913 as a motor car repair workshop before becoming a major local employer.
The new home has 60 en suite bedrooms, including rooms designed for couples and spaces that give residents and families privacy. Many rooms have views across the gardens and surrounding landscape. Its gardens have been designed by landscaper Suzanne Boswell, who has shaped the outdoor spaces around resident wellbeing.
Wey Meadows will include shared lounges, dining spaces and areas for rest, recovery and everyday activity. The home will also use technology to support safety and independence, including Nobi smart lamps, which can help detect falls and provide the care team with additional insight.
The home will be partnering with and sponsoring Farnham Lions, a volunteer led community organisation that supports local charities, good causes and community projects across Farnham and the surrounding area.
‘When people visit Wey Meadows, I want them to feel the warmth of the home straight away. It may be brand new, but our aim is for it to feel personal, welcoming and lived in from the very beginning,’ said Sebastian Wiencelewski, home manager at Wey Meadows. ‘Elstead has such a strong sense of community, and we want Wey Meadows to become part of that. I am looking forward to welcoming people in, building local relationships and creating a home where residents feel known, supported and connected.’
CHD Living, a family-owned and operated care provider, has been supporting people across Surrey and south London for more than 40 years. It provides residential, nursing, dementia, respite, rehabilitation, and complex care.
