Construction work under way on Adlington IRC

CGI of Knaresborough project

Adlington Retirement Living is set to open a development in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, in autumn 2025.

Construction is under way on the site, which will comprise 61 one-, two- and three-bedroom retirement apartments for the over 60s.

The integrated retirement community will have gardens, a hair salon, therapy suite, homeowners’ lounge and restaurant. Fixtures and fittings in apartments include hard-wearing wool carpets that reduce heat loss, fireplaces and fully fitted kitchens with integrated appliances. Many will feature en suite shower rooms as well as separate bathrooms, and have patios or walk-out balconies. Personal care packages will also be offered if needed.

‘More of our homeowners are choosing to move to retirement communities whilst they’re fit and healthy, to future-proof their retirement. We offer a personal approach to care to ensure that each individual receives just the right amount to maintain their independence, allowing them to enjoy their retirement to the full,’ said Alexandra Johnson, sales and marketing director at Adlington Retirement Living.

Adlington is also constructing IRCs in Newcastle-under-Lyme and Exeter.
