Exemplar opens £6.2m care home in West Midlands

Exemplar Health Care has opened £6.2m Shire Oaks Court in Walsall, West Midlands.

It will provide specialist nursing care for adults living with complex conditions, including mental health needs, dementia, neuro-disabilities, and physical disabilities.

The setting has 30 bedrooms, each with an en suite wetroom, split in to three units. The small group living model, Exemplar said, provides a more homely and supportive environment that is more responsive to people’s needs.

The home also features communal dining and living spaces, an activities hub, a therapy room, salon and a garden. There will also be treatment rooms for the in-house therapists.

Creating more than 100 jobs, Shire Oaks Court has an in-house multidisciplinary team of health care assistants, registered nurses, life skills facilitators, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists.
