Lifeways completes refurbishment project at Abbeymoor

Communal lounge

Lifeways has completed a £700,000 refurbishment project at a residential care service supporting people with neurological conditions in Newcastle, Tyne and Wear.

The project at Abbeymoor included the redecoration of bedrooms, purpose-built en suite facilities, with baths removed and replaced by accessible wet rooms, new communal shower rooms, and the refurbishment of assisted bathrooms, communal rooms and its laundry room.

In addition, new fire doors have been installed, sockets and switches throughout the service have been updated, and there has been a full main kitchen refurbishment, including updated flooring, ceiling and appliances. The car park has also been resurfaced and includes a dedicated ambulance bay.

‘The service was ready for significant investment, and our team has worked tirelessly to create a modern, welcoming environment that truly reflects the needs, preferences and personalities of the people who live here,’ said Andrea Ellison, head of property at Lifeways.

‘Abbeymoor is one of several major refurbishment projects being delivered by our property team, and it’s fantastic to see the positive impact these improvements are having on the people we support, their families and the teams who care for them every day.’
