LNT Care Developments acquires site for care home

LNT Care Developments has bought a 4.7-acre site with planning consent for a 100-bedroom care home from Wisbech Construction Ltd.

Planning permission was granted in March for the development, which had been due to have en-suite bedrooms over ground, first and second floors.

LNT, which is currently constructing 18 schemes across England, has submitted planning for a 66-bedroom, two-storey care home, with an adjacent residential development.

‘Construction is due to start in January 2022 with a predicted completion date of February 2023,’ said LNT Care Developments land director Keeley Sharp. ‘Once complete, the home will offer a strong community facility, integrating with the nearby local facilities of shops, churches, and schools.’

The property will have en-suite bedrooms, communal areas, a cinema, library, garden room and tea shop, all surrounded by gardens.

Christie & Co was appointed as the selling agent for the site in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, which was sold for an undisclosed sum.

Sara Hartill, senior surveyor at Christie & Co, handled the sale. ‘The opportunity to acquire a 4.7-acre site in an area with strong demand demographics, unsurprisingly, proved to be very popular within the market,’ she said.

‘LNT Care Developments is well positioned to achieve a revised planning consent that will suit its needs and ultimately serve the growing requirement for market standard beds in the area.’
