Maria Mallaband Care Group investing £80m on developments

Windsor Court

Maria Mallaband Care Group (MMCG) is committing more than £80m in the development of nine care homes, as part of an ongoing build programme over the next three to four years.

It has invested £8m in Windsor Court, which opened in Malvern, Worcestershire, in July, and will open homes in Buckingham and Aylesbury next year.

Work is underway on a £9.5m care home in the Lace Hill area of Buckingham, creating a 62-bed property and upwards of 70 jobs. The home, which will be next to healthcare hub, will have en-suite rooms, private patios, lounges, restaurants, communal areas, gardens, and an orangery.

It is under construction by nursing home contractor Lawrence Baker Ltd, which delivered Windsor Court.

Commissioning and operations of projects will be overseen by a team headed up by Daniel Turner-Naylor, who has been promoted to a new role as operations director new builds after joining MMCG as regional director for Yorkshire in January.

With each project, the business is also creating new jobs – in some cases this will result in up to 100 roles for local people. As a result, it has introduced a community liaison role to ensure each home engages in local events and builds long-term relationships with nearby charities and organisations.

MMCG operates more than 80 homes across the country.
