Construction of St Mary’s Care Homes’ latest development in Holgate, North Yorkshire, is entering its final stages.
Acomb Manor Care Home, a 66-bed development, will provide residential, dementia and respite care for families across York and the wider area from early winter.
The home is fully electric and powered through air source heat pumps and solar PV panels, enabling the scheme to achieve an EPC rating of ‘A’. It will feature en suite bedrooms across three floors, along with communal lounges. Other facilities will include an onsite pub and hair salon, gardens, and a programme of resident-led activities and events.
At full occupancy, the home will support around 75 staff, including care, hospitality, wellbeing and support roles.
‘The opening of Acomb Manor Care Home marks another important milestone in the continued growth of St Mary’s Care Homes, reflecting our commitment to investing in high-quality care homes where they are needed most,’ said Steven Davis, St Mary’s Care Homes chief executive officer.
‘As we continue to grow, we remain committed to investing responsibly in communities where high-quality care is needed most. Acomb Manor reflects that approach, combining skilled job creation with sustainable, energy-efficient design to deliver a care home that will benefit local families for generations to come.’
