St Mary’s Care Homes’ refurbishment project on track  

St Mary’s Chanterlands Lodge Care Home in Hull, East Yorkshire, is on track to open in early winter, following a refurbishment project.

Formerly St Mary’s Nursing Home, the building has been remodelled to provide residential, dementia, respite and dedicated complex care. It is next to St Mary’s Chanterlands Care Home, which opened in August 2024.

Operated by St Mary’s Care Homes, the property includes en suite bedrooms, lounges, dining areas and outdoor spaces. Energy-efficient boilers and low-energy lighting have also been added to cut energy use and environmental impact.

Together with neighbouring St Mary’s Chanterlands Care Home, we are expanding the range of specialist care available in Hull, giving more local families access to high-quality support when they need it most,’ said Kirsty Crozier, St Mary’s Care Homes managing director.

Steven Davis, St Mary’s Care Homes chief executive officer, added: ‘This refurbishment represents another significant investment in Hull and the East Riding, creating modern facilities that respond directly to growing demand for specialist care. It will create around 55 new jobs while expanding access to residential, dementia and complex care, making an important contribution to the local health and care system and helping more people remain close to their families and communities.’
