Residential home growth boosts Somerset Care’s business

Somerset Care Limited achieved a slight rise in turnover from £80.5m to £80.8m for the year ended 31 March 2014. After cost of sales of £14.1m (2013: £16.1m) and administrative expenses of £8.4m (2013: £9.9m), the company made an operating profit of £5.8m (2013: £6.3m). Interest charges of £1.3m, mainly from bank borrowing (£1.1m), left the group with a pre-tax profit of £4.5m (2013: £5m).
