Brain treatment hope for Alzheimer’s

The University of Cologne called for more research into deep brain stimulation for Alzheimer’s sufferers last month after tests showed it helped a small sample of patients with their memory.

MH Trusts sending more Patients away from local area

NHS mental health trusts are sending an increasing number of patients to hospitals away from their local area. Figures obtained under the Freedom of Information Act by the BBC and Community Care from 30 mental health trusts in England show that last year 3,024 people were sent out of their local area for treatment. This was an increase of 33% from 2012-13 and more than double the 1,301 sent away in 2011-12.
