Montreux Healthcare Fund buys Lane Fox Remeo Respiratory Centre

The Montreux Healthcare Fund has purchased respiratory care company Remeo Healthcare through its operating company Active Care Group for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition includes the Lane Fox Remeo Respiratory Centre in East Surrey Hospital, managed by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Patients at the centre can receive weaning, rehabilitation and home ventilation services in a purpose-built unit outside of London but with the support of the NHS team.

The deal will allow the Montreux’s operating company to offer an integrated care pathway by using the Active Care Group’s complex and in-home care divisions.

‘The Lane Fox Remeo Respiratory Centre is a purpose-built facility with excellent care quality which has done some amazing work rehabilitating the most complex respiratory patients,’ said Oliver Harris, chief executive officer, Montreux Capital Management.

‘The model has been applauded by many and has the opportunity to expand across NHS foundation trusts, offering real value to the NHS as a whole. The Active Care Group can also offer on-going care to the patients at the facility, providing the continuity that is so often missing from our healthcare system.’

Professor Nicholas Hart, clinical director of the Lane Fox Respiratory Service, added: ‘We have a long tradition of working successfully in partnership. This enables us to share our super-speciality knowledge and management expertise as well as learn from our partners.’

Crowe advised on the deal and the legal work was covered by Gowling WLG.
