Benenden Health appoints chief commercial officer

Benenden Health has appointed Andy McClure as chief commercial officer.

McClure brings experience from across the insurance and health sectors, having held senior roles at AXA Health, Marsh UK & Ireland and AIG. He was also part of the Member Advisory Board for the International Federation of Health Plans.

In his new role, McClure will oversee commercial strategy and development at Benenden Health, which currently supports more than 870,000 members. He joins the senior executive team and reports directly to chief executive Tom Woolgrove.

It does so at a crucial time, when the NHS needs support with waitlists, and patients need quicker access to care,’ said McClure. ‘I’m excited to be joining to help deliver propositions that bring high-quality, affordable healthcare to the nation.’

Woolgrove said McClure’s background in product development, B2B sales and marketing made him a valuable addition. ‘Andy has a wealth of experience in these areas, as well as in the wider insurance industry, that we are excited to introduce to the team.’
