Bluecrest appoints CMO

Health assessment provider Bluecrest Wellness has appointed Dr Martin Thornton as chief medical officer.

Qualified in medicine at the University of Liverpool, followed by a research degree in regenerative medicine at The University of Manchester, Thornton has been a practicing GP for 15 years. He was a partner in a practice in Buckinghamshire where he has also been the architect of a transformative Primary Care Network – integrating health coaches, pharmacists and nurses to proactively combat chronic illness.

In his new role, Thornton will oversee Bluecrest’s clinical processes and contribute to its long-term strategy.  Initially, he will focus on enhancing the delivery of data to business clients for health, wellbeing, and safety initiatives in the workplace, as well as expanding Bluecrest’s tests.

Commenting on his appointment, Bluecrest Wellness CEO Dominque Kent said: ‘We think we’re perfectly placed to support businesses to enable people to take their health into their own hands and live health confident. We think Martin is perfectly placed to help us achieve that. His leadership experience, years on the front line, and real passion for prevention make him exactly the right person to be our clinical lead.’
