Cleveland Clinic has promoted Abigail Stapleton to chief commercial officer of Cleveland Clinic London. She had been serving as executive director of international strategy since 2022.
In her new role, Stapleton will oversee the hospital’s commercial functions, including strategy, business development, patient access in the UK and internationally, marketing, public relations and data analytics.
Cleveland Clinic London president Dr Rob Lorenz said: ‘Abi has been an integral part of our organisation’s success. Her leadership has been pivotal in strengthening our business strategy, expanding our partnerships, and ensuring that Cleveland Clinic London continues to deliver on its promise of world-class care to patients.’
Stapleton said she looked forward to building on the organisation’s progress. ‘I am honoured and excited to step into this role, and I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me and for the opportunity to continue working with such an exceptional team,’ she said.
Stapleton has more than 15 years’ experience in both the private and public healthcare sectors. Before joining Cleveland Clinic London, she was executive director of strategy and commercial businesses, and a board member at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. She previously held roles at Bupa across its UK businesses.
Cleveland Clinic London opened in 2022 and operates two outpatient centres. The hospital recently announced plans to expand with a new cancer treatment centre at 40 Grosvenor Place, due for completion in 2027.
