Cleveland Clinic London has strengthened its oncology capability with the appointment of Joanna Franks as consultant breast and oncoplastic surgeon.
Franks has significant experience in the detection of early breast cancers and breast and reconstructive cancer surgery, including neo-adjuvant strategies. In addition to her role at Cleveland Clinic London, she is a consultant at University College London Hospital where she manages patients with all breast symptoms including breast cancer and sarcoma.
She regularly sees patients who have a breast change detected in screening or may be at an increased risk of breast cancer due to family history or genetics.
She has an interest in training and is a regular examiner, and is also a trustee of Future Dreams, the only dedicated breast cancer support centre in the UK. She is a member of the executive committee of Europa Donna UK, the largest European breast cancer patient advocacy organisation and a senior medical editor for Macmillan Cancer.
‘I’m delighted to join Cleveland Clinic London as it expands its oncology programme,’ said Franks. ‘I look forward to working within an organisation committed to innovative research, and quality and patient care.’
She will begin her role at Cleveland Clinic London on 4 January 2027.
