Erfan rejoins Circle Health Group as general counsel

Circle Health Group has appointed Mehdi Erfan as general counsel.

Erfan, who joins from Ramsay Health Care UK, has held senior legal and general counsel positions at a number of large telecommunications and healthcare organisations.

He was general counsel and group company secretary at Ramsay Health Care for 13 years, but his sector experience extends back to the early days of NHS market-based reform. He was general counsel for Nations Healthcare prior to its acquisition by Circle Health in June 2007, remaining with the business to play key role in developing its doctors’ engagement model.

He left Circle to join the Department of Health as head of legal, where he was involved in the roll out and management of the Independent Sector Treatment Centre (ISTC) programme and the development of the NHS Standard Contract.

Circle said his extensive knowledge and experience will be ‘extremely valuable’ as it looks to enhance and consolidate its position in the UK market.

Commenting on his appointment, Erfan said: ‘Circle has ambitious plans, and I am looking forward to supporting my colleagues and the organisation to strengthen and enhance our position in the UK market.’

Circle Health Group CEO Paul Manning added: ‘Mehdi is an exceptional talent, and I am delighted to have him with us for the next chapter of Circle’s story. His wealth of experience, knowledge and insight will prove invaluable, and I look forward to having his support as we look to become more competitive commercially and operationally.’
