GenesisCare has appointed Dr Sheena Khanduri as UK chief medical officer.
Khanduri, a practising clinical oncologist specialising in breast cancer, was most recently executive medical director and responsible officer at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust, where she has worked since 2017. During her tenure, she oversaw the transformation of oncology services, including the opening of a new cancer hospital and expansion of research activity.
As chief medical officer at GenesisCare, Khanduri will lead the clinical teams as the provider continues to invest in new technology and seeks to improve access to advanced cancer therapies. She will work closely with the UK leadership team, the organisation’s clinical and research specialists, and the wider UK clinical community.
Commenting on her appointment, Khanduri said: ‘I am delighted to join this exceptional team and contribute to advancing the standard of oncology care across the UK, supporting individuals and their families at every stage of their journey. I look forward to collaborating with colleagues to foster clinical excellence and drive meaningful progress in cancer treatment.’
Justin Hely, CEO of GenesisCare UK & Europe, said: ‘We are thrilled to welcome Sheena to GenesisCare. Her clinical expertise, leadership experience, and deep commitment to patient-centred care make her ideally placed to lead our medical teams across the UK. Sheena is passionate about delivering high quality patient care, developing clinical leadership and using technology to drive improvements in patient care and clinical outcomes.’
GenesisCare is continuing to expand its network of specialist outpatient cancer care centres. In August 2025, it plans to introduce an MR Linac at its Surrey centre, offering precision radiotherapy for complex cancers. The group also expects to open its 15th and largest UK centre, equipped with two advanced radiotherapy platforms, in Leeds in 2026.
Compass Carter Osborne director Dan Kiely advised on the appointment.
