The Huntercome Group (THG) has appointed Dr Sylvia Tang as chief executive.
Tang, who is due to take over from Valerie Michie on 1 June, has 14 years’ experience at board level in both the NHS and independent health and social care sector.
A psychiatrist by profession, she has been medical director and deputy CEO at Camden and Islington NHS foundation trust, group medical director at Priory Group and CEO at Priory Healthcare.
Commenting on her appointment, she said: ‘THG’s values and its commitment to delivering compassionate and quality care has never been more vital and I plan to build on this reputation. I will be talking to staff during ‘virtual’ site visits in the coming months, so I can learn more about the care they are giving to patients and residents.’
Outgoing CEO Michie, who has led THG for the past six years, said: ‘I have decided it is now time for me to move on and know THG will be in good hands under Dr Tang’s leadership.
