Nuffield Health announces new CFO

Nuffield Health has announced the appointment of Paul Baker as chief financial officer (CFO).

He will take up the post at the end of this year, following the departure of Matt Lynn who is stepping down to take up a new position.

Baker (pictured) has more than 25 years of financial leadership experience across the international consumer, logistics and service sectors. He was previously CFO at Smiths News Plc, where he led improvements in operational performance and business transformation. An associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, he has also held senior finance roles at Compass Group Plc, Iglo Group/Birds Eye Limited and Cadbury Schweppes Plc.

Nuffield said Lynn had played a pivotal role in strengthening its financial stability, control and performance since joining the charity in 2022 and had helped lay the foundations for improved profitability and greater investment.

‘Matt has made an outstanding contribution to Nuffield Health over the past three years,’ said CEO Alex Perry. ‘His leadership has helped us build a stronger, more resilient organisation, and I want to thank him for the professionalism, expertise and commitment he’s brought to the organisation every day.

‘I’m delighted to welcome Paul Baker to Nuffield Health. His breadth of experience and capabilities will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our financial performance, allowing us to reinvest in our services and deliver even more social impact in the future.’

Lynn will remain until the end of the year to ensure a smooth handover and transition.
