OSD Healthcare appoints CEO

Day surgery and outpatient clinic OSD Healthcare has appointed Phil Bates as CEO.

Bates has extensive experience in private healthcare, including managerial roles at Ramsay, Capio and Aspen Healthcare.

He is currently hospital director at Ramsay Health Care’s The Yorkshire Clinic. Prior to that he was hospital director at Aspen Healthcare’s Parkside Hospital and Cancer Centre London, which now trades as Nuffield Health.

He will take up his new appointment with OSD Healthcare on 15 April, replacing Ray Guirguis, who leaves to become general manager for the UK and Ireland at pan-European IVF and genetics services provider FutureLife.

‘I am delighted to be taking up the role of CEO at OSD Healthcare, a hospital well known in the community for providing accessible, affordable and high-quality care,’ said Bates. ‘I am joining the team at a very exciting time of growth and look forward to leading and supporting the team as we strive to expand our service offering to better meet the needs of our patients.’

Commenting on his appointment, the OSD Healthcare Board said: ‘We have no doubt Phil will be an invaluable addition and look forward to working with him to realise the full potential of OSD Healthcare as a leading private healthcare provider. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Ray for his commitment and service to the business over the last four years. His leadership has truly positioned the company for success, and we wish him the very best as he embarks on this new chapter of his career.’

Compass Executives’ director Luke Osborne advised on the appointment.
