Pedro appointed chief executive of Cromwell Hospital

Luis Pedro has been appointed chief executive of Cromwell Hospital.

Pedro, who takes up the role on 1 August, joined the Bupa-owned private hospital as chief operating officer in May 2024 and has been serving as interim chief executive since the departure of Philip Luce earlier this year.

Before joining Cromwell Hospital, Pedro held senior leadership positions at The London Clinic and Aspen Healthcare. He also has a background in the hospitality sector, experience Bupa said has influenced his approach to operational leadership and customer service.

Sarah Melia, general manager for Bupa Health Services, said Pedro had played ‘a key role in strengthening operational performance and enhancing the experience’ for patients and consultants since joining the hospital.

Commenting on his new role, Pedro said: ‘I’m delighted and honoured to take on the role of CEO for Cromwell Hospital. Since I started at the hospital, I have been impressed with the people and consultants who work hard every day to provide the best possible care for our patients.’
