HCA Healthcare UK has appointed William Pressley, chief executive of the Harley Street Clinic, as chief executive of The Princess Grace Hospital and HCA UK at University College Hospital.
Pressley (pictured) will now lead three of the provider’s hospitals in the Harley Street District. The Portland Hospital remains under the leadership of Jane Whitney-Smith and all four facilities will work closely to offer a more consolidated patient pathway.
This will be strengthened with consultants and multi-disciplinary teams who will also feed into the patient pathway under single Medical Advisory Committees at the Harley Street Clinic and The Princess Grace Hospital. It also includes HCA’s clinical trials facility, the Sarah Cannon Research Institute, which specialises in the development of new therapies and precision medication for cancer patients; Leaders in Oncology Care teams; and the Institute of Sport Exercise and Health (ISEH).
The move comes as HCA continues its programme of investment in the area. Recent projects include a £13.5m women’s health centre on Harley Street and a £26m upgrade at the Harley Street Clinic.
Pressley said: ‘At HCA Healthcare, we know that seamless care is a critical priority for patients in today’s healthcare landscape. It is therefore an honour to lead the Harley Street District to provide this streamlined care, with access to expertise and specialist treatments available across the facilities. With a superb network of sites all located within streets of one another, we have a real opportunity to enhance the patient experience with exceptional, personalised care, delivered across the hospitals.’
