Psyomics appoints Raj Malik to board

Digital mental health company Psyomics has appointed US healthcare executive Raj Malik to its board as it looks to expand internationally.

Malik has more than 30 years’ experience across digital health, technology, law and business and will advise Psyomics on commercial growth, investor engagement and international expansion, including opportunities in the US.

He previously helped build and scale US digital health business Rally Health, which grew to $2bn in revenue before its acquisition by Optum.

Malik began his career in law as an assistant attorney general before becoming an antitrust attorney at White & Case. He has held a number of CEO and other senior leadership roles and is also a National Association of Corporate Directors Certified Director.

Psyomics is developing technology combining digital mental health assessment with biomarkers to support clinical decision-making. The company is currently expanding its UK customer base and preparing to launch its biomarker technology, alongside plans for international growth.

Malik will work alongside chief executive Dr Melinda Rees, the senior leadership team and other board members.

Rees said: ‘Raj has taken a digital health company from an early stage to $2bn in ARR and to an exit and that is the exact trajectory we’re building toward.

‘He understands how to scale technology businesses, build strong teams and grow sustainably, and brings valuable experience of both the UK and US markets.’

Malik said: ‘Psyomics stood out because it has an incredibly talented mission-oriented team that developed a biomarker capability that truly sets it apart from other digital mental health platforms I have evaluated.

‘I’m looking forward to using my experience to help the team scale its work, demonstrate meaningful outcomes and ultimately improve more patients’ lives.’
