Charitable hospital and wellness provider Nuffield Health has appointed Dr Natalie-Jane Macdonald as chairman of the Board.

Macdonald has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare sector and spent eight years working as a hospital physician in the NHS. She is currently CEO of Sunrise Senior Living UK. Prior to this she served 17 years at Bupa before becoming CEO of Acorn Care and Education, an educational and care services company for special needs children.

She joined the Nuffield Health Board in January 2017 and succeeds Russell Hardy, who is stepping down after eight years as chairman and a decade on the Nuffield Health board.

Nuffield Health CEO Steve Gray said: ‘I’m delighted with the appointment of Natalie-Jane as our new chairman. Natalie-Jane’s expertise and experience has been evident in her role on the board for the last three years and I have no doubt she will continue to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the charity.’
