The Retina Clinic London has appointed consultant ophthalmologist and ophthalmic surgeon Christos Koutsidis as it expands its cataract and medical retina services.
Koutsidis (pictured) brings more than 10 years of clinical experience across the UK, Greece, Germany and Russia. His areas of expertise include medical retina, uveitis, glaucoma, anterior segment disease and cataract surgery.
He previously completed fellowship training in medical retina and vitreoretinal imaging at The Retina Clinic London under founder and chief medical officer Professor Paulo Eduardo Stanga, and has contributed to the clinic’s research in age-related macular degeneration and inherited retinal dystrophies.
‘This is an exciting time in ophthalmology. Advances in retinal imaging, diagnostics and treatment are changing how we assess and manage patients with increasingly complex needs, while expectations around visual outcomes continue to rise,’ said Koutsidis.
‘What attracted me to The Retina Clinic London is its commitment to combining advanced diagnostics, specialist expertise, innovation and research within a highly collaborative environment. The opportunity to work alongside Professor Stanga and the The Retina Clinic London team provides a unique platform to support patients whose care may benefit from detailed retinal assessment, sophisticated imaging and carefully tailored treatment planning.’
