Vanguard Healthcare Solutions appoints CEO

Rebecca Lythe

Vanguard Healthcare Solutions has appointed Rebecca Lythe as CEO.

Lythe was previously managing director of Newmedica, where she oversaw the company’s expansion from ten to 34 sites. Prior to that, she held senior strategy and transformation roles across the wider Specsavers Group.

Her earlier career included vice president of business transformation and chief compliance officer and executive board member at ASDA, following 14 years at KPMG.

Her appointment coincides with Vanguard’s expansion into the life sciences sector through Vanguard Life Sciences, launched in 2026 to provide modular cleanroom and containment infrastructure for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and research organisations.

Lythe said there were significant opportunities across all three areas, where Vanguard’s existing presence provided the opportunities to apply its expertise to an adjacent and attractive market.

‘Vanguard is exceptionally well placed to be a strategic partner to healthcare providers at a time when infrastructure is under pressure, demand for care continues to grow and healthcare systems need practical ways of increasing capacity,’ said Lythe.

Commenting on her appointment, chair of Vanguard Healthcare Solutions Dr Graham Rich said: ‘Rebecca has an impressive record of developing strategy and translating it into operational and commercial delivery within complex healthcare environments.

‘Her experience of scaling Newmedica while maintaining strong clinical quality and patient outcomes is particularly relevant to Vanguard. We see significant opportunity ahead and Rebecca is very well placed to lead the organisation through its next stage of development.’
