Circle Hospital enters commercial partnership with Warwickshire CCC

Circle Health Group’s The Priory Hospital in Birmingham has signed a three-year commercial agreement to become Warwickshire County Cricket Club (Bears) and Edgbaston’s Official Private Hospital Partner.

Under the deal, the club’s medical and physiotherapy team will have access to the hospital’s diagnostic equipment, including MRI scans, X-rays, CT and ultrasound scans, plus consultancy support from some of its healthcare specialists.

Warwickshire lead physiotherapist Gerhard Mostert said the partnership would provide the team with fast access and diagnosis on player injuries.

‘The location couldn’t be any better for us, so close to the stadium, as it means we can send players for an assessment on injuries mid-game if needed and get a diagnosis in a matter of minutes,’ he said.

‘We might send players for scans up to 30 times a year; it’s an important part of our player care. Working closely with the Priory Hospital will help us manage medical conditions and our return-to-play plans for injured players.’

The deal also grants Priory Hospital pitch-side advertising at Edgbaston, alongside web advertising. In addition, it will be the club’s headline partner for the community day double-header on Saturday 8 June, when colleagues from the hospital will be available to chat with players and fans.

Priory Hospital executive director Silvie Adams said: ‘We are looking forward to supporting Warwickshire County Cricket Club on and off the field as their Official Private Hospital Partner.

‘Having fast access to state-of-the-art imaging and diagnostic services is essential to ensuring players can continue competing at the highest level of the domestic game. On behalf of colleagues and consultants at the hospital, we wish the Bears the very best of luck for the season ahead.’

Warwickshire members, Bears fans and Edgbaston staff will also benefit from a range of special healthcare offers through the club’s My Edgbaston portal.

Ben Seifas, head of partnerships at Edgbaston, said: ‘The Priory Hospital is on our doorstep in Edgbaston, so it’s a natural local partnership, and the specialist support and technology they can offer our players is second to none.’
