Rapid Prostate Clinic launches at the Princess Grace Hospital

The Princess Grace Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK, has launched a Rapid Prostate Clinic offering patients same day testing and diagnosis for those with an elevated Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA).

The clinic will use multi-parametric MRI (mpMRI) scanning for the prostate, which can locate, identify and diagnose the cause of prostate symptoms.

This, combined with blood and urological tests, provides an overview of the patient’s condition that can be given on the same day.

‘Having an elevated PSA can be a challenging and upsetting time for any patient, but the more proactive patients can be in staying aware of symptoms and signs, the better their overall chances of survival will be,’ said Hasan Qazi, consultant urologist at The Princess Grace Hospital. ‘The Rapid Prostate Clinic encourages and enables early diagnosis of all prostate conditions, meaning that individuals who come to the clinic have the very best chances.’

Miranda Dodd, chief executive officer of The Princess Grace Hospital, said: ‘The Rapid Prostate Clinic is a service we’re incredibly proud to be able to offer to our patients.

‘Today, most men are aware of the dangers that certain signs and symptoms can represent and want to get tested as quickly as possible if they notice these symptoms.

‘At The Princess Grace Hospital, our dedicated Prostate Clinic offers patients speedy access to appropriate care and testing, so that diagnosis is quick, and treatment can be started as soon as possible.’
