VitalityHealth has announced a strategic partnership with HealthHero as it expands its virtual GP services for members.
HealthHero will operate alongside Vitality’s existing long-standing partner Livi, increasing overall capacity within the insurer’s digital primary care offering.
The expansion reflects what the insurer described as growing consumer demand for access to everyday healthcare appointments, including GP consultations, as a key factor in purchasing private medical insurance.
Under the phased rollout, the HealthHero GP service will initially be available to new personal and SME private health insurance members, as well as to members who have not used Vitality’s existing virtual GP service in the past 12 months. Members who regularly use Livi will continue to access services through that provider. Both services will operate in parallel to meet demand, before being integrated into a single, triaged pathway available to all members later this year.
VitalityHealth CEO Arun Thiyagarajan (pictured) said: ‘Healthcare expectations are shifting fast, and we’re committed to staying ahead of what members will need next. By bringing HealthHero on board for GP services alongside our long standing partner Livi, we’re boosting the long-term scale and resilience of our offering, while holding firm on quality and experience. Expanding our network means advisers can be confident their clients have greater flexibility, and seamless access to the right care exactly when they need it.’
Aseem Sadana, UKI CEO at HealthHero, said: ‘We are delighted to partner with Vitality, a brand synonymous with quality and proactive health. At HealthHero, we are committed to making healthcare as seamless as possible, and we are particularly excited as this partnership allows us to provide flexible, high-quality care that fits into people’s busy lives, ensuring Vitality members can access expert medical advice exactly when and how they need it.’
