Asisa plans first European hospital in Oman

New hospital planned for Oman may limit outbound medical tourism. Spanish healthcare provider ASISA plans to run the 70-bed multi-specialty hospital in the capital city Muscat.

The first European hospital in Oman will be open in 3 years. Spanish healthcare provider ASISA will run a 70-bed multi-specialty hospital in Muscat. The group was chosen by project developer Fincorp, as doctors own it. It will bring 40 European doctors and nursed, plus European administrators.

The hospital will offer a wide range of specialised medical treatments and services, state-of-the-art medical technology in mother and child care, cardiology, genetics, urology, neurology, dermatology, oncology, rehabilitation, ophthalmology and IVF.

Fincorp sees potential as many Omanis travel abroad for treatment and even the government sends patients abroad for treatment that is not available in Oman; so this could offer local international healthcare.
