The upgrade of six hospitals is expected to give Cebu’s bid to become a medical tourism destination a needed boost
The P500-million upgrade of six hospitals of the Cebu Doctors’ Group of Hospitals is expected to give Cebu’s bid to become a medical tourism destination a needed boost.
Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital will add cosmetic surgery, male health and PET scanning facilities.
SGH in Naga City will house Cebu’s first trauma centre with its own C-arm X-ray and a helipad.
Cebu’s first mother and child centre will be established at the NorthGen Doctors’ Hospital in Barangay Talamban.
The number of private rooms at the San Carlos Doctors’ Hospital in San Carlos City will be doubled.
There will be connectivity of the six hospitals via a software programme that will provide each patient with a card containing all records that can be accessed by doctors in all six hospitals. The card will also provide discounts for patients in all CDG hospitals.
The group has plans for a seventh hospital in the northern part of Cebu within the next five years.
